The Gujarat Congress has intensified its allegations of large-scale electoral irregularities, claiming that the BJP’s victories in state elections were aided by 14% vote theft carried out through collusion with election officials.

Congress said its charge from August 30, 2025 that over 60 lakh votes were stolen in Gujarat has now been validated by the State Election Commission, which recently acknowledged that more than 74 lakh voters on the rolls were dead, duplicate, or had migrated.

Gujarat Congress leaders cited constituency-wise analysis, including checks in the Choryasi area of Union Minister C R Patil’s Navsari Lok Sabha seat, where a sample verification of 40% voters revealed 12% suspicious or invalid entries. From this, Congress estimated that Gujarat had more than 60 lakh questionable voters.

State Congress president Amit Chavda accused the Election Commission of failing to act despite evidence.

Chavda said, “The commission has now admitted that out of 5.08 crore voters, over 74 lakh are dead, duplicate, or relocated. This proves Congress’ claim of large-scale voter fraud.”

Rally on December 14

As part of its nationwide campaign to save democracy, Congress will hold a major rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on December 14, where leaders from Gujarat will join supporters from across the country.
