Gujarat cities get new Mayors, check out prominent names

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced the names of mayors, deputy mayors and standing committee chairpersons for municipal corporations across Gujarat, following weeks of internal deliberations and lobbying after its victory in the recent local body elections.

In Amdavad Municipal Corporation, Thaltej ward corporator Hitesh Barot was elected as the new Mayor of Ahmedabad.

The announcements were made following approval from the BJP high command after days of consultations over the allocation of influential civic posts.
