The swearing-in ceremony following the cabinet expansion of Gujarat is began at 12.30 pm today at Mahatma Mandir, marking the first major reshuffle since CM Bhupendra Patel assumed office. Moreover, the state is also likely to get a new deputy CM as part of the expansion.
Political activity in the state capital surged late into the Thursday night over the anticipated cabinet expansion. Political analysts suggest that the BJP high command has decided to undertake a strategic reshuffle of the state cabinet during Diwali. As part of this plan, the formation of a new council of ministers is being finalized. Extensive deliberations were held at the Chief Minister’s residence until midnight to decide which MLAs should be inducted as ministers. The discussions were accompanied by calculated "dinner diplomacy."
BJP legislators have been arriving in Gandhinagar, leading to a significant gathering at the MLA quarters. On Thursday, all party MLAs were instructed to reach the CM House by 8 pm. Around 7 pm, BJP National President JP Nadda also arrived in Gandhinagar. He addressed the MLAs, offering insights and strategic guidance on governance and party organization. There was visible excitement among the legislators, eager to learn who would secure a place in the new cabinet.
