Gujarat bypolls: AAP's Gopal Italia wins Visavadar seat, BJP secures Kadi

The results of the by-elections held in five assembly constituencies across Punjab, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Kerala have started coming in today. The counting of votes began at 8 am amid tight security arrangements put in place by the Election Commission of India.
The bypolls were conducted on June 19, and polling was largely peaceful across all constituencies. The Election Commission has ensured a secure and transparent vote counting process, deploying additional personnel and surveillance measures at counting centers.

After 20 rounds of vote count in Visavadar, Gopal Italia from AAP is leading with 16,594 votes and is heading towards victory, as per the official data from the Election Commission of India.
In Kadi, after 17 rounds, BJP candidate Rajendrakumar Chavda is heading for a clear win against the trailing INC.
BJP is leading with 37, 424 votes in Kadi.

The seventh round has been completed in Kadi, with BJP leader Rajendrakumar Chavda leading by 13,195 votes.
In Visavadar, after the completion of the sixth round, BJP's Kirit Patel is leading by 411 votes.

Counting of votes has begun for the Kadi assembly constituency in Gujarat. Initially, the postal ballots are being counted. It is worth noting that by-elections were held on June 19 in the Visavadar and Kadi assembly constituencies of Gujarat.

In the by-elections held in Gujarat’s Visavadar and Kadi constituencies, voter turnout was 54.61% and 54.49% respectively. The Visavadar seat became vacant after AAP’s Bhupendra Bhayani resigned and joined the BJP. BJP fielded Kirit Patel, Congress nominated Nitin Ranpariya, and AAP put forward its former state president Gopal Italia as its candidate.
On the other hand, Kadi is a reserved seat for Scheduled Castes, which became vacant following the death of BJP MLA Karsan Solanki. BJP fielded Rajendra Chhabda, Congress nominated Ramesh Chhabda, and AAP chose Jagdish Chhabda as their candidate.
