Class 10 Teachers Account For Largest Share
Of the 3,334 teachers facing penalties:
- Class 10: 1,671 teachers
- Class 12 General Stream: 1,137 teachers
- Class 12 Science Stream: 526 teachers
The board has directed the respective district education officers' (DEO) offices to communicate the penalties to the schools where the concerned teachers are employed.
Teachers Given Seven Days To Pay
School principals have been instructed to inform the concerned teachers about the penalty. The teachers will have seven days to deposit the amount.
If a teacher fails to pay the penalty within the stipulated period, the school principal will be called for a hearing, according to the instructions issued by the board.
Schools Also Served Notices For Absentee Teachers
Apart from evaluation errors, the board has also taken note of teachers who failed to report for answer-sheet evaluation despite being assigned the duty.
In some cases, schools allegedly did not send teachers for the evaluation work. DEO offices in Ahmedabad and other districts have issued show-cause notices to schools following the board's directions.
In Ahmedabad city alone, the board has identified 109 Class 10 teachers for errors in answer-sheet evaluation, with reported discrepancies ranging from 10 marks to 112 marks.
