Gujarat board results: 803 students in Ahmedabad obtain A1 grade, third highest in state

The Gujarat State Education Board (GSEB) rolled out Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results of Science, General stream, Vocational, and GUJCET on Monday.
Ahmedabad district has scored 1.35% better than last year's overall result. This year, a total of 803 students in Ahmedabad district including Science and General stream achieved the A1 grade.
While Surat has once again secured the first position in the state with the highest number of A1 grades in Science and General stream, followed by Rajkot and Ahmedabad.
Science stream
In Ahmedabad, 7,066 students appeared for the Class 12 Science exam this year, out of which 5,755 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 81.45%. Last year, it was 81.05%.
In rural Ahmedabad, out of 4,910 students, 677 failed, leading to a pass percentage of 86.31%. Last year, it was 85.05%.
A total of 35 students secured an A-1 grade in Ahmedabad, while in rural areas, 32 students achieved the same. Last year, there were 55 A-1 grade students in the city and 32 in rural areas. This year, the number of A-1 grade students in the district has dropped by 20.
Surat saw 247 A-1 grades in Science stream, followed by Rajkot with 86, Ahmedabad (70), Navsari (58), Morbi (47), Bhavnagar (35), and Gandhinagar 17.
General stream
Surat again topped with highest with 1,672 A-1 grades in General streams across Gujarat. Followed by Rajkot (841), Ahmedabad (733), Bhavnagar (327), Morbi (191).
