Gujarat board announces academic calendar for 2025–26; board exams from February 26

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the academic calendar for the 2025–26 academic year. According to the calendar, the new academic session will begin on June 9, 2025. The first term exams for classes 9 to 12 will be held from September 11 to 20. Diwali vacation will start from October 16.

The preliminary exams for classes 10 and 12 will begin on January 16, 2026, starting the day after the Uttarayan holiday. The board exams for classes 10 and 12 will commence from February 26, 2026 — one day earlier than the previous year.

Supplementary exams for current year (2024–25):

The board  has announced that the retest exams for the 2024–25 academic year will begin on June 16, 2025, and continue till June 26, 2025. This applies to class 10 and class 12 general and science streams. Detailed schedules will be released by the board soon.

For the 2025–26 academic year, the first term exams for classes 9 to 12 will cover the syllabus from June to August. The preliminary exams for classes 10 and 12 will be based on the full syllabus. For class 9 and 11 second term exams, 30% of the syllabus will be from June to August and 70% from September to December.
