Gujarat bids farewell to unseasonal rainfall no showers predicted from Tuesday

After days of heavy unseasonal rainfall across districts of the state, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather in Gujarat from Tuesday.

Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of around 25°C on Monday. After the city experienced clear skies and dry weather throughout the day, light rainfall lashed some parts of Ahmedabad.  

Rain was recorded in 35 talukas across Gujarat on Sunday. Among them, Dwarka in Devbhumi Dwarka district received the highest rainfall of 1.50 inches, followed by Bhavnagar, which recorded 1 inch of rain.

The good news is that, according to the IMD forecast, no further rainfall is expected in the state. Over the past month, Saurashtra received around 5.50 inches of rain, while East-Central Gujarat recorded 3.25 inches.

During the current monsoon season, Gujarat has received 128% of its average seasonal rainfall. Among regions, Kutch recorded the highest at 150%, followed by South Gujarat at 133%.

The state recorded average rainfall of 12 inches in June, 10 inches in July, 9.70 inches in August, and 8.75 inches in September.
