Gujarat ATS, Jamnagar SOG arrest Punjab murder accused from Meghpar village

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Jamnagar Special Operations Group (SOG) have arrested a man wanted in a murder case registered in Amritsar, Punjab, after he was found hiding and working as a helper in Meghpar village of Jamnagar district.
According to Gujarat ATS , a murder case was lodged on November 18 at A Division Police Station in Amritsar following the killing of Makhan Singh Madholuram, a resident of Ghanshyampur. The Punjab Police had earlier arrested four accused—Dharmvir Singh, Karamvir Singh, Bikramjeet Singh and John who, during interrogation, disclosed that another individual, Lovepreet Singh Harjeet Singh, also played a role in the conspiracy.
Punjab authorities subsequently alerted senior officers of the Gujarat ATS regarding Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Kotla Khurd in Amritsar, who had absconded. Acting on the information, DySP Harsh Upadhyay directed his team to develop further intelligence. Their inquiries revealed that the wanted accused had arrived in Meghpar, Jamnagar, just a day earlier and had taken up temporary work as a helper in local industrial unit.
Upon receiving the intelligence, the Gujarat ATS informed the Jamnagar SOG, which dispatched a team.
The team conducted a search operation in Meghpar and located the suspect in a local chawl. When questioned, the man identified himself as Lovepreet Singh Harjeet Singh, following which he was detained and taken to the Gujarat ATS office in Ahmedabad for further questioning.
During preliminary interrogation, Lovepreet Singh is said to have confessed to his involvement—along with the four already-arrested accused—in the conspiracy to murder Makhan Singh at the Amritsar bus stand, which falls under the jurisdiction of A Division Police Station.
Officials said that formal procedures have now been initiated to hand him over to the Amritsar City Police for further legal action.
Further investigation is under way.
