In a move to combat corruption within the state government, two officials have been mandatorily retired on Aug 28. M S Bhoya and K D Rathod, both Executive Engineers in the Roads and Buildings Department (R&B), were dismissed due to ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and irregularities.

The decision to retire Bhoya and Rathod before their scheduled retirement dates came from the state’s R&B Department. While their mandatory retirement is effective immediately, the departmental inquiries into their alleged misconduct will continue.

This brings the total number of officials mandatorily retired by the Gujarat government to 12. The majority of these officials held Class-I positions, indicating a concerted effort to address corruption at higher levels.
