GSSSB opens recruitment for over 5,000 government posts, know all about it
The Gujarat subordinate service selection board (GSSSB) has released an official notification for a large government recruitment drive. Through this recruitment, more than 5,000 class-3 government posts will be filled in various state departments.
The recruitment will be conducted through a combined competitive examination (CCE) for Group A and Group B posts.
According to the official notification, a total of 5,370 vacancies have been announced under this recruitment process. Out of these 2,365 posts are under Group B.
Group A posts include important administrative positions such as Head Clerk, Senior Clerk, Social Welfare Inspector and Revenue Clerk in the collector office. These posts play a key role in the smooth functioning of government offices.
Group B recruitment is mainly for the post of Junior Clerk, which is one of the most popular government jobs among young candidates.
The board has also mentioned that the number of vacancies can be increased or reduced in the future depending on administrative needs and government decisions.
Age limit
GSSSB has provided important information regarding age relaxation. General category male and female candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years in the age limit. This step has been taken to give more opportunities to candidates who missed earlier recruitments.
Salary structure
The recruitment notification also clearly mentions the salary offered for different posts. Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary during the initial period, followed by regular pay scale benefits.
Office superintendent will receive a salary of ₹49,600 per month
Head clerk and social welfare inspector will get ₹40,800 per month
senior clerk, junior clerk, and collector office clerk will receive ₹26,000 per month
These salaries make the recruitment very attractive, especially for young graduates seeking job security and steady income.
Graduation mandatory for all posts
One of the major changes in this recruitment is related to educational qualification. Earlier, some clerk posts required only 12th pass, but now the minimum qualification has been increased to Graduation.
This means only candidates who have completed their graduation from a recognised university will be eligible to apply. This change aims to improve the quality and efficiency of administrative work in government offices.
Application fee increased
GSSSB has also revised the application fee structure. Now, all candidates must pay an application fee, and the amount has been increased compared to earlier recruitments.
Unreserved (General) category candidates have to pay ₹500
Women candidates and reserved category candidates (SEBC, SC, ST, and others) have to pay ₹400
Exam pattern and syllabus
The recruitment process will begin with a Preliminary Examination, which will be conducted in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format. The total marks for the preliminary exam will be 150 marks.
This large-scale recruitment by GSSSB is being seen as a golden opportunity for graduates who are preparing for government jobs in Gujarat.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official GSSSB website for updates related to application dates, exam schedule, and further instructions.
