With the new year onboard, the Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), also known as Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal, released a notification on Jan 3 for the recruitment of various posts in Group A and Group B.

More than the exam, its increased fee structure has been the talk of the town. The GSSSB has decided to increase the fees by 3.5 times, to ₹500 from the earlier ₹111.

However, there is a twist: the notification clearly states that the ‘Examination fee will be refundable to candidates who will be present on the day of the examination.’

Moreover, candidates will have to pay separate fees for the preliminary exam and the main exam. Currently, only the fee for the preliminary exam will be payable. An online fee payment facility is provided to the candidates.

The GSSSB clerk registration 2024 will open today from 2 pm till Jan 16 on the official website of OJAS (Online Job Application System). To avoid any errors, all the tests will be computer- based. 

The selection board is set to fill a total of 4304 vacancies for various positions, including junior clerks, senior clerks, head clerks, office assistants, stamp inspectors, collector office clerks, and others.
