GSRTC to operate 1,300 extra buses, 7,500 trips for Holi–Dhuleti rush

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced special arrangements to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the Holi and Dhuleti festivals. A total of 1,300 additional buses will operate more than 7,500 extra trips across the state between February 27 and March 5, 2026.
The move aims to help citizens travel to their hometowns and celebrate the festival with their families. Compared to last year, the number of additional services has been increased to accommodate higher demand.
Special focus has been placed on pilgrimage routes, with 450 extra buses assigned for devotees traveling to Dwarka and Dakor. Around 3,500 trips will be operated on these routes, particularly in view of the large crowds visiting Dakor for the Phooldol festival and Dwarka during Holi.
Additional arrangements have also been made for passengers traveling from Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Amreli, Junagadh, Bhavnagar and Bhuj towards Godhra, Dahod, Jhalod and Chhota Udepur.
To ease congestion, GSRTC has encouraged passengers to use its online booking facility through its official website and mobile application. A 24-hour toll-free helpline (1800 233 666666) has also been made available for inquiries.
