GSRTC earns over rs 97 lakh from extra buses during Diwali

Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) earned ₹96.89 lakh over eight days (October 16–24) by operating 709 extra buses during the Diwali festival.

The highest revenue came on October 18, with 15,000 passengers generating ₹33.73 lakh, followed by October 17, which saw 11,248 passengers and ₹25.81 lakh in earnings. 

Other notable revenues include ₹20.81 lakh on October 19 and ₹11.66 lakh on October 16. On October 22, only three extra buses ran, carrying 208 passengers and earning ₹16,304.

Sources said the extra buses covered 1.39 lakh kilometres. Across Gujarat, more than 5,000 extra buses operated during Diwali, with most trips towards north Gujarat and Saurashtra.
