GSRTC announces recruitment for 8,917 posts

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced a major recruitment drive. The corporation will fill a total of 8,917 vacancies, including 4,318 conductor posts and 4,599 driver posts.

Candidates selected through this recruitment process will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹26,000 during the first five years of service. Online applications will be accepted from June 6 to July 5.

For conductor posts, applicants must have passed Class 12th (10+2). The age limit is 18 to 35 years, while candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government rules. Applicants must also possess a valid conductor licence approved by the RTO and meet the required vision standards.

For driver posts, candidates must also be Class 12th pass. The age limit is 25 to 35 years, with a five-year relaxation available for reserved category candidates. Male applicants should have a minimum height of 162 cm, while the requirement is 160 cm for ST category candidates. For women, the minimum height is 158 cm. Candidates should not suffer from colour blindness.

The corporation has set different licence and experience requirements for male and female driver applicants. Male candidates must have a heavy vehicle driving licence, a valid badge, and at least four years of experience driving diesel vehicles in a transport company or similar organisation.

Female candidates only need a heavy vehicle licence and badge. Those without prior heavy vehicle driving experience will be provided two months of special training at the Automatic Driving Test Centre before appointment.
