GSHSEB extends deadline for Class 10 supplementary exam till May 18

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has officially announced an extension for the online application process for Class 10 (SSC) and Sanskrit Prathama Supplementary Examinations 2026. Originally scheduled to conclude earlier, the deadline has now been pushed to May 18, 2026, until 5 pm.
The release states that the supplementary exams are intended for students who were absent or failed to secure passing marks (noted as 'Needs Improvement') in one or more subjects during the February-March 2026 main examinations. Notably, the board is also allowing students who passed the main exams but wish to improve their results to appear for these supplementary tests.
Important guidelines for students
Mathematics Option: Students who failed in 'Standard Mathematics' (12) have the option to switch to 'Basic Mathematics' (18) during the supplementary application process
Subject Upgradation: Students who cleared the main exam with Basic Mathematics can apply for the Standard Mathematics paper as isolated candidates to upgrade their qualifications.
Fee Exemptions: In a significant move toward accessible education, the state government has exempted female candidates and students with disabilities (PwD) from paying examination fees. However, online registration remains mandatory for these students.
The GSHSEB urges all eligible candidates to coordinate with their respective schools to ensure their applications are submitted before the new deadline. Detailed instructions regarding the syllabus and fee structure are available on the board’s digital portal.
