The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) calendar has been announced for the long awaited list of examinations.

On Jan 31, the GPSC has officially announced the recruitment calendar for 2024, with an estimated 1,624 posts in 82 diverse cadres. However, exams for calendar years 2023 and 2022 are yet to be conducted.

With 13,000 government employees retiring every year, only 20% are recruited.

Over 30,000 vacancies are in the police department, and seats in other government offices await to be filled.

The recruitment includes 147 posts for the positions of insurance medical officer class II, 573 state tax inspector class III, 96 assistant engineer class II, 164 Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) classes I and II, civil service class I and II, chief municipal officer class II, and 100 assistant engineer class II.
