Good samaritan returns lost handbag near Soni Ni Chali in Ahmedabad

In an act of honesty and civic responsibility, a resident who found a lost handbag near Soni Ni Chali Crossroads ensured that it was returned to its rightful owner with the assistance of traffic police personnel in Ahmedabad on Monday.
According to officials, at around 11 am, Raju Barot found a ladies' handbag near the area. Rather than attempting to locate the owner himself, he promptly handed over the bag to personnel stationed at the Soni Ni Chali Traffic Post under the A Division Traffic Police.
The handbag was received by a woman police constable and a Home Guard jawan on duty. Upon examining the contents, officials found important documents and a mobile phone inside the bag. Using the details available in the belongings, they identified the owner as Manishaben Sanjaybhai Thakor, a resident of Dudheshwar in Shahibaug.
Traffic personnel subsequently contacted Manishaben on the mobile number found in the records and informed her about the recovery of the handbag.
At around 11.30 am, Manishaben arrived at the Soni Ni Chali Traffic Post, where the woman police constable, Home Guard personnel and a Traffic Regulation Brigade (TRB) jawan handed over the handbag and its contents after verifying her identity.
Police officials appreciated the honesty shown by Raju Bhai and said the incident highlighted the importance of public cooperation in helping citizens recover lost belongings.
The owner expressed gratitude to the traffic police staff and the Good Samaritan for ensuring the safe return of her handbag, mobile phone and important documents.
