Gujarat Police drug bust

In the ₹350 cr drug bust made on the shores of Veraval at Naliya Godi on Feb 23, the Gir-Somnath local crime branch (LCB), along with the special operations group (SOG), nabbed three individuals. Their interrogation has led the team to an associate in this case, Allarakha, alias Dado Abbas Sumariya, a Jamnagar local who works as an electrician.

Sumariya was nabbed and produced in court on Mar 1, where his six-day remand was approved.

In the drug bust at Veraval, LCB and SOG teams apprehended three individuals: Asif Sama, Arbaaz Pama, and Tandel Dharmen Kashyap.

The accused, Asif and Arbaaz, had confessed that Sumariya handled the local operations for Ishak alias Mama, one of the prime accused in this drug nexus.

It was also reported that Ishak, a resident of Jamnagar’s Jodiya taluka, is running this nexus from South Africa.

The police had identified that Murtuza Baloch, along with his operative, Sheikh Arbab, had sent this consignment in a boat from a location near Oman. And Ishak was responsible for its delivery in Rajkot.

In a later investigation, one of the accused, Kashyap, was found to be operating under the direction of Baloch as well.

So far, four accused have been arrested in this case.

Speculations are made about Ishak’s drug empire being one of the largest in India, said sources close to the Gir Somnath police, probing a Morbi drug bust.

Ishak was also found to be associated with a drug bust in Morbi’s Zinzuda village, where a ₹600 cr consignment was seized by the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS).
