Ghatlodia woman hospitalised after husband allegedly thrashed her

A woman is currently undergoing treatment at Sola Civil Hospital after she was reportedly assaulted by her husband, Mukeshbhai Kalubhai Bariya, at their residence in Chanakyapuri, Ahmedabad. The incident, which occurred on April 22, has been described by the complainant, Deepikaben, as the culmination of a year-long history of physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband.

The complaint was lodged by Deepikaben, who is employed at a TVS workshop in Ghatlodia, stated that the argument began when her husband refused to allow their 5-year-old son, Disham, to visit her mother’s house. Deepikaben stated in her complaint that she received a phone call from her son around 2.30 pm, requesting to be sent to his grandmother’s house. However, when she arrived home later that evening after work, an argument ensued, during which Mukeshbhai allegedly kicked her twice in the stomach.

The physical altercation escalated when Deepikaben, after refusing to hand over their son to her husband, called her father, Jitendrasinh Nao, for assistance. Mukeshbhai reportedly returned home and continued to assault his wife. Deepikaben claimed that he kicked her in the stomach again before she sought refuge and medical attention.

Her father, accompanied by her younger sister Seema took Deepikaben to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment after an ambulance was called. Deepikaben is currently receiving medical care, and her condition is being monitored closely. The incident has prompted her to file a police complaint, urging authorities to investigate the matter and take legal action against her husband.

The case was reported to Ghatlodia police station, where the investigation is ongoing.
