Get ready to travel free on AMTS buses in Ahmedabad from Dhanteras to Diwali

For the first time, Amdavadis will be offered free travelling in AMTS buses for three days of Diwali. In order to enable Ahmedabad residents to travel from one area to another for festive shopping, the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has announced that all passengers can travel free of cost in AMTS buses for three days — from Dhanteras to Diwali. 

Around 800 buses operate on the roads daily, carrying an average of 5.5 lakh passengers.

After a meeting held on Wednesday, Committee Chairman Dharamsinh Desai said, “To boost festive shopping during Diwali, all passengers will be able to travel free in buses from October 18 to 20.”

The committee has approved the resolution, subject to the corporation’s final approval.
