Youth from Chaudhary community with fake (Central Reserve Police Force) CRPF plates on their cars were intimidating the voters to vote for the BJP, claimed Banaskantha Lok Sabha candidate from Congress, Geni Thakor, in a video.

In the video, the Congress leader claimed that the youth hailed from Palanpur, and had no business being in the the polling station in Danta’s Dhareda village, intimidating people as the elections were underway.

“This man here, named Prakash Chaudhary, is from Palanpur. He is intimidating people to vote for BJP, here at the Dhareda primary school in Danta,” said Thakor.

The MLA from Vav ended the video by urging the district police chief and the election commission to file an FIR against the accused and initiate immediate action against them.

Battle of Banaskantha

Notably, Geni Thakor, Congress’ sole female representative in the Gujarat Assembly, is contesting against BJP’s Dr Rekha Chaudhary, the granddaughter of Banas Dairy founder Galba Chaudhary.

The recent electoral history of Banaskantha tells a tale of decisive victories, with BJP’s Parbat Patel securing victory in 2019 by a margin of more than 3.68 lakh votes against Congress’ Parthi Bhatol.
