GAD names nine IAS officers to cover six officers’ training absence

The General Administration Department has issued orders directing nine IAS officers to fill in for six senior officers who are currently away attending mandatory mid-term training.
The six seniors—Shalini Agrawal, Alok Kumar Pandey, Dilip Kumar Rana, Sandip Sagle, Dr Dhaval Patel, and Udit Agarwal—are undertaking training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National academy of Administration in Mussoorie from June 18 to July 13.
Jenu Dhavan, superintendent of stamps and inspector-general of registration in Gandhinagar will fill in for Pandey as commissioner of relief and ex-officio secretary to the revenue department, while Saidingpuii Chhakchhuak, MD Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, will take temporary charge as commissioner of youth services and cultural activities in Gandhinagar.
During Sagale’s absence, Chhakchhuak will step in as commissioner for micro, small and medium enterprises, while Rahul Gupta, vice-chairman and MD of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, will fill in as industries commissioner. Gaurang Makwana, MD, Industrial Extension Bureau in Gandhinagar will take Sagle’s spot as MD, Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Ltd, until the latter returns.
RB Barad, chairman of the Gujarat Pollution Control Board will step in for Dr Patel as commissioner of geology and mining in Gandhinagar, while Ajay Prakash, director of the Gujarat Energy Development Agency, will fill in as commissioner of civil aviation.
Narmada-Rajpipla collector Shweta Teotia will cover Udit Agrawal’s role as chief administrator and CEO of the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, while Vadodara collector BA Shah will take over as CEO and Commissioner for rehabilitation SSPA, Vadodara, for the duration of Agrawal’s absence.
Shah will also fill in for Vadodara municipal commissioner Rana during the latter’s absence. Similarly, Surat collector Dr Sourabh Zamsingh will cover for Surat municipal commissioner Shalini Agrawal during her absence.
