From hiding in public to inappropriate messages, BJP leaders in Vadodara mired in controversies

Vadodara district saw two separate skirmishes involving BJP leaders during the last long weekend of festivities.
In one such incident at Sadhi village of Padra taluka, a viral video showed former APMC chairman Bhaskar Patel sneaking out of a clinic late at night under mysterious circumstances, draped in a blanket.
Local youths were seen pulling off the blanket and recording a video. The incident remains shrouded in mystery, while the video continues to grab eyeballs.
As per reports, after learning that some people were waiting outside to record him, Patel stayed locked inside the clinic for three hours and later tried to sneak out draped in a blanket.
The controversy surrounding the former chairman of Padra APMC has continued to stir debate on social media. After his video went viral, Patel posted a status quoting a famous dialogue of film star Rajkumar, “openly accepting the challenge”.
In another incident, a case under the Atrocity Act has been registered against Nilesh Purani, chairman of the Vadodara District Panchayat’s executive committee, following which the police have launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, in Karjan, an incident involving a scuffle also sparked discussion, after allegations surfaced that the brother of a BJP taluka-level leader had allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a young woman. The woman also submitted a formal complaint to the district BJP president against this leader.
Another case was reported in Bhadrava village of Savli, where a violent clash broke out between Mahipatsinh Rana (former taluka panchayat president and husband of the current sarpanch) and Ashok Gamechi (husband of a former district panchayat member and office-bearer of the BJP Kisan Morcha at the state level). A police complaint was filed following the fight.
