A 19-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend following a dispute near the Faisalnagar area of Danilimda in Ahmedabad, police said on Tuesday.

According to the complaint registered at the Danilimda Police Station, the deceased has been identified as Aman Khan, a resident of Indira Nagar in Sarkhej.

The complaint was filed by the victim’s father, Israr Nathu Khan Pathan, 45, who stated that his son had left home on the morning of May 18 with his friend Arbaaz alias Bhabhi Aminbhai Maniyar, a resident of New Faisalnagar in Danilimda.

Pathan, who works as a trader and also drives a goods vehicle, told police that Arbaaz had visited their residence around 10 am and left with Aman after breakfast. However, when Aman did not return home by night, the family repeatedly tried contacting Arbaaz on his mobile phone, but the calls allegedly went unanswered.

According to police, around 7.15 am on May 19, Arbaaz’s mother contacted Aman’s family and informed them that a fight had allegedly taken place between the two youths.

The complainant alleged that when Arbaaz’s family reached an open field behind the Faisalnagar police chowki, they found Aman lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab injuries.

Police said the victim had injuries on his face, chest, ribs, groin, back, elbows and wrists. He was rushed to LG Hospital in a 108 ambulance service vehicle, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

In his complaint, the victim’s father alleged that Arbaaz attacked Aman with a knife with the intention to kill him, inflicting fatal injuries to his chest, stomach, ribs and back.

Police have arrested the accused and have registered a case of murder against the accused and initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal altercation.
