Four-vehicle pile-up near Sabarmati Riverfront causes traffic snarl

A collision involving four vehicles on the descending road towards the Sabarmati Riverfront from Shahibaug led to traffic congestion in the area.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred around 11 am on Thursday when multiple vehicles rammed into each other on the riverfront access road. The last vehicle in the chain was reportedly bearing a Madhya Pradesh registration number and was transporting a woman patient to hospital at the time of the crash.
Police said the woman sustained minor injuries in the accident. On being alerted, a 108 emergency ambulance was immediately dispatched to the spot, and the patient was taken to the same hospital she was originally being transported to, where she was given medical treatment. Her condition was stated to be stable.
The accident resulted in traffic congestion for some time, causing inconvenience to motorists using the busy stretch. However, following prompt action by the police and traffic department personnel, the vehicles were cleared and traffic movement was gradually restored.
