Four nabbed in tyre slashing case in Ahmedabad’s Satellite main accused on the run

In a bizarre case of miscreants slashing 20 car tyres in Rajivnagar’s Vaibhav Tower, Ahmedabad’s Satellite police arrested four accomplices and are currently searching for the main accused.

Those arrested include Vipinsinh Bherusingh Garasiya (resident of the Paldi Bhatha area), Mahesh Lakshmiprasad Sisodiya (resident of Vasna), and Anilsinh Somsingh Garasiya and Jitendrasinh Gumansinh Garasiya (both residents of Jivraj Park), all originally from Rajasthan.

Surveillance Police Sub-Inspector Y S Chudasama stated that the main accused, Nepal Singh, has fled to his native place in Rajasthan, and a search is currently underway. The police have successfully arrested the group responsible for causing damage to innocent citizens’ vehicles over a personal parking dispute.

The incident, which initially baffled the residents, has now been traced back to a personal dispute between two cab drivers over parking. To get back at his cousin, one of the cab drivers allegedly sent his friends to damage his cousin’s car. However, since they didn’t know which car belonged to him, they ended up slashing the tires of multiple parked vehicles.

On the night of July 30, individuals arriving on auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers suddenly slashed the front and rear tyres of around 20 cars and fled. Satellite police were informed of the incident and launched an investigation by examining around 50 CCTV footages. However, the vehicle numbers were not clearly visible, making it difficult to identify the culprits.

Eventually, through clues from the auto-rickshaw, the Satellite police surveillance squad identified and arrested four people involved in the act.

During questioning, it was revealed that a cab driver named Nepal Singh, who lives in Rajivnagar and parks his vehicle near Vaibhav Tower, had a quarrel with his cousin Jignesh, also a cab driver, over a parking issue.

Seeking revenge, Nepal Singh allegedly plotted to damage Jignesh’s car and instructed his friends to slash its tyres. However, since the friends couldn’t identify which car belonged to Jignesh, they ended up slashing the tyres of around 20 parked cars near the tower.
