Four-month-old baby mauled to death by pet Rottweiler in Ahmedabad's Hathijan

In a horrifying incident in Ahmedabad's Hathijan area, a four-month-old baby girl was mauled to death by a pet Rottweiler dog after it broke free from its owner's control on Sunday night. The infant's aunt, who was carrying the baby, also sustained injuries in the attack.

The incident occurred at Radhe Residency, a residential society near Hathijan Circle, where Vipul Dabhi's four-month-and-17-day-old daughter Rushika was taken out for a stroll by her maternal aunt. A resident of the society brought her pet Rottweiler downstairs while talking on the phone. In the process, the dog slipped from her grip and viciously attacked the infant and her aunt.

The baby reportedly fell from her aunt's hands during the attack, after which the dog fatally mauled her. The aunt also suffered injuries while trying to protect the child and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Despite emergency medical attention, the infant succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The incident sparked outrage among residents of the society, many of whom expressed anger over the negligence of the pet owner. According to police sources, a complaint is likely to be filed at Vivekanandnagar police station regarding the incident.

Police are expected to take statements from the victim's family, the pet owner, and other eyewitnesses, and initiate further action as per the law.
