Four-foot python rescued from farm enclosure in Melasana village

Residents of Melasana village near Nalsarovar panicked after a four-foot long python was spotted inside a farm enclosure on Saturday, prompting a swift rescue operation by Animal Life Care.
According to local residents, the non-venomous reptile was seen in an amli (farm) enclosure in the village, following which people in the vicinity grew anxious on noticing the snake. Rohitbhai Patel, a local resident who first spotted the python, kept watch to ensure it was not harmed and immediately alerted Vijay Dabhi of Animal Life Care.
Acting on the information, a rescue team from the organisation reached the spot with all necessary equipment and safely captured the python. The operation was carried out without any injury to the reptile or harm to residents, rescuers said.
Speaking about the rescue, Dabhi said the four-foot python was later released in a safe natural habitat. He added that such incidents are common in rural areas, particularly near fields and water bodies, and urged people not to attempt to catch snakes on their own if they are unsure of the species.
He appealed to residents to immediately contact the Animal Helpline or the Forest Department in case a python or any other wild animal is spotted, instead of taking matters into their own hands.
