Four assault youth in Meghaninagar after he requests them to speak softly

In yet another disturbing instance of rising lawlessness in Ahmedabad, a group of anti-social elements allegedly thrashed a youth in Meghaninagar late at night after he politely requested them to speak in a low tone. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the youth being dragged, kicked, and beaten with wooden sticks outside his residential building. The Meghaninagar police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.
The complainant, Nandkishor Sen, a resident of Matrubhumi Housing Scheme in Meghaninagar, told police that around midnight, he had stepped out of his flat for a stroll. As he was returning, he came across four individuals identified as Krishna, Keval, Chhotu Patni, and another unidentified person, engaged in loud conversation near his building.
According to the FIR, Sen politely told them that it was past midnight and requested them to keep their voices down. Enraged by the remark, the group began hurling abuses at him. When Sen objected to the abusive language, all four allegedly attacked him. They beat him with wooden sticks, kicked him, and grabbed him by the collar, dragging him across the ground.
CCTV footage from the residential society corroborates Sen’s statement, showing him being pulled and assaulted by the group in a manner reminiscent of mob violence.
Amrutbhai Makwana, another resident who attempted to intervene and rescue Sen, was also reportedly assaulted by the group. It was only after neighbours gathered in response to the commotion that the assailants fled the scene.
Both Sen and Makwana sustained injuries and were rushed to the Civil Hospital by 108 emergency ambulance services. Meghaninagar police later registered a case of assault and are analysing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend all culprits involved.
Police officials stated that action would be taken against all involved, and further arrests are likely in the coming days.
