Four arrested for assault on contractor in South Bopal

The Bopal police on Sunday arrested four men for allegedly attacking a contractor with sticks at a construction site in South Bopal following a dispute over accommodation arrangements.
Police said the victim, Mukesh Parmar, a native of Jamnagar, was assaulted on Saturday evening by Jaga Thakor, Baka Thakor, Dashrath Thakor and Jawan Thakor at the Sarathya West Side project site. The accused allegedly beat Parmar with wooden sticks after a heated argument.
According to investigators, the dispute stemmed from frequent quarrels between Parmar and the accused over staying arrangements in a rented room near the site. On the day of the incident, the construction activity had been halted for a day, during which the argument escalated into violence.
Parmar sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Sola Civil Hospital by a colleague, Baka Bhai. “Based on preliminary inquiry, we have arrested four accused and further investigation is underway,” said Astha Rana, DySP (Rural Ahmedabad).
Police have booked the accused for assault and are probing whether past enmities triggered the attack.
