Copper Wires From ACs Stolen From Housing Society in Vadodara

Copper pipes connected to four air conditioners were stolen from the roof of a flat at Shyamal Residency on Waghodia Road in Vadodara. The incident came to light after residents found that their ACs were not cooling properly. Kapurai police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started an investigation.

According to the complaint, the theft took place when the family was away from home on the night of September 11. After returning, they noticed that the AC was not working properly. On checking the roof, they found that the copper pipe connected to the AC had been cut and removed.

Copper Pipes Cut and Taken Away

The thieves reportedly targeted four AC units in the residential society. A total of around 32 feet of copper pipes, with each pipe measuring about eight feet, was stolen. The pipes were cut from the AC units on the roof and taken away.

A neighbour also found that the copper pipe connected to their AC was missing. The residents then checked the area and realised that similar thefts had taken place from multiple AC units in the society.

Police Begin Investigation

Following the incident, a complaint was filed with Kapurai police. Police have registered a case against unidentified thieves and are checking the circumstances of the theft.

Police are also investigating how the thieves entered the premises and whether the incident was carried out by the same persons. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
