Langa's bag in question was found by the police on July 18, with ₹7.57 lakh cash, jewellery worth ₹3.55 lakh, six sim cards, two phones, and his diary. Since the bag was password protected, it was opened in Langa's presence.
The diary from the bag also had some chits and flagged markings, which are believed to be accounts of Langa's tenure, supposedly both legal and illegal. Reports also suggest that Langa had written names of people in the diary who would help him in tough times.
Four suspects with the codenames found in Langa's phone were also questioned on July 18.

After five-day remand of the former Gandhinagar collector and IAS S K Langa in the land corruption case, the court has granted Gandhinagar police four more days of remand of him.
Langa's remand was completed on July 17, and he was produced in the court by the Gandhinagar police. The police argued that further questioning of Langa in relation to the network of administrators was necessary. At Naroda in Ahmedabad, the name of an accountant has also been revealed.
On the other hand, during the interrogation of the then Resident Additional Collector (RAC) and Chitnis(Secretary), the names of government and private administrators have come out. Whom it is necessary to call and interrogate the accused. Accepting all the arguments, the court granted remand for four more days.
Langa’s phone revealed coded names
During the remand, a phone found in Langa’s car had the short names of the bankers written with code words. Following that trail, more than two bankers have been interrogated, and a search for some other has been initiated.
The car used by Langa is registered in his son's name but no other belongings were recovered from Langa when the police reached Mount Abu. A bag was delivered from Mount Abu to Ahmedabad, admitted Langa. The bag contained diaries, cash, dollars and SIM cards.
However, it has not been found yet. Gandhinagar police also presented the importance of finding the bag in their argument for extending the remand of Langa, which the court accepted.
A diary full of secrets?
In the bag that reached Ahmedabad from Abu, there is a diary. The police believe that there are accounts of accountants and financial transactions in that diary and that Langa has had the diary with him since his tenure as the collector.
It will not be surprising if the names of the leaders and officials also come out. On the other hand, two officials who were working in the Gandhinagar Collectorate during Langa’s tenure were questioned by the police and the cell phone of one of them was also confiscated.
