Former HAL employee involved with Pak spy nabbed in Ankleshwar
In a major operation, the Bharuch CID (crime) nabbed a man from Gujarat’s Ankleshwar over his alleged involvement with a Pakistani spy on May 9.
The intelligence agencies in Udhampur, J&K, informed the Gujarat crime investigation department (CID crime) in Bharuch that sensitive information related to military and paramilitary forces, DRDO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and missile manufacturing companies has been observed by Pakistani spies through Facebook and WhatsApp.
Acting on a tip, the Bharuch CID crime branch team used technical surveillance to nab Pravin Mishra, a resident of Ragini Chowk, Ankleshwar, in Bharuch.
CID additional director general of police Rajkumar Pandian said, “Pravin Mishra, an aeronautical engineer who used to work at HAL in Hyderabad, fell prey to a Pakistani spy posing as a woman named Sonal Garg.”
Mishra exchanged his contact number with the spy after meeting her on social media.
When Mishra used to work for HAL, he allegedly sent security-related sensitive details to the Pakistani spy.
He also sent photographs and information about the company, associated with a missile system.
At that time, Mishra and the spy used to connect via a WhatsApp call.
Later, Mishra shifted to Ankleshwar for a job.
Currently, Mishra works at a company that supplies various materials to DRDO. As a result, the spy also got information about the Ankleshwar-based company.
A case has been registered against Mishra, and an investigation has been underway.
