Foreign liquor worth ₹1.3 lakh seized in Ahmedabad raid, one arrested

Police in Ahmedabad have seized foreign liquor worth more than ₹1.3 lakh during a raid at a house in the Shela area and arrested one person in connection with the case, officials said.
The operation was carried out after police received information that the accused was allegedly selling foreign liquor from his residence. Acting on the tip-off, a police team kept the house under surveillance before conducting the raid.
During the search, officers recovered a large quantity of liquor bottles concealed beneath a bed. The accused, identified as Balwant Vishnuji Parmar, a resident of Nano Thakor Vas in Shela village, was taken into custody.
According to police, a total of 246 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor valued at approximately ₹1,15,830 were seized from the premises. In addition, 68 cans of beer worth about ₹14,960 were also recovered, taking the total value of seized goods to ₹1,30,790.
A case has been registered against Parmar under the Prohibition Act. Further investigation is under way.
