Five Gujarat Prohibition Department officers removed over corruption complaints

The Gujarat Home Department has removed five officers of the state Prohibition and Excise Department from their posts following complaints of alleged corruption, official sources said on Thursday.
The action comes after multiple complaints regarding alleged irregularities and corruption within the department reportedly reached the Chief Minister’s Office, prompting the Home Department to intervene.
Sources said the officers have been placed on “waiting for posting” status pending further decisions.
Those removed include Deputy Director Ketan A Desai, Mehsana District Superintendent Amitabh Patel, Nadiad Inspector Shailesh Rabari, Anand Inspector Vipul Patel and Ahmedabad Deputy Inspector Anil Ganwan.
Officials said the five officers were relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
