With rising temperatures across Gujarat, incidents of fire are also increasing. Ahmedabad witnessed five separate fire incidents in different parts of the city on Friday, causing panic among the citizens and keeping the fire brigade on toes.

The incidents were reported in slums of Chandola and Vatva, Venus Atlantis in Prahladnagar, a chemical factory in Vatva GIDC Phase-4, and a car in Bapunagar.

Vatva fire

A massive fire broke out at Jayshree Chemical Industries in Vatva GIDC Phase-4 after a chemical drum reportedly exploded. The flames spread quickly, affecting 4 to 5 nearby factories. Four fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot, and efforts were made to control the blaze.

Prahladnagar fire

In another incident, a fire erupted in the basement of Venus Atlantis, a commercial building in Prahladnagar. Around 6-8 vehicles were destroyed in the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The fire department responded swiftly and is now investigating the cause of fire.

Chandola fire

Meanwhile, at Chandola Lake, where illegal settlements were recently demolished over the past few days, debris from demolished homes caught fire. Materials like cloth, plastic, and wood were burned. Fortunately, since the area only contained waste, no injuries were reported. Initial reports suggest extreme heat may have triggered the fire.
