Firing between two groups over cricket dispute in Dholka village, police deployed

Tension gripped Ingoli village in Dholka taluka of Ahmedabad district after a clash between two groups escalated into firing late on Sunday, police said.
According to officials, the incident occurred following a dispute between two groups belonging to the same community over a cricket match. The argument reportedly intensified, leading to an exchange of fire, triggering panic in the area.
On receiving information, a team from the Dholka Police Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional forces were deployed in the village to prevent any further escalation.
Police said a bandobast has been put in place and patrolling intensified to maintain law and order. “The situation is currently under control, and necessary preventive measures have been taken,” an officer said.
As of now, there is no confirmed report of any casualties or serious injuries in the incident. However, officials said they are verifying details and recording statements of those involved.
The Ahmedabad Rural Police has initiated an investigation to ascertain the sequence of events and identify those responsible for the firing.
Senior officers are closely monitoring the situation, and police said strict action will be taken against those found involved in the violence.
