Fire breaks out at barrel market near Chandola Lake, no casualties reported till now

A fire broke out at the barrel narket located near the Chandola Lake area in Ahmedabad on Wednesday morning, prompting a swift response from the city’s fire and emergency services. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

According to officials, the fire was first reported around 8 am, following which five firefighting vehicles were immediately dispatched to the site. The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) teams brought the situation under control in short span of time.

“We received a call alerting us to the fire at the barrel market and immediately deployed five fire tenders. Our teams worked efficiently to contain and extinguish the blaze,” said a senior fire officer. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have originated from materials stored within the market premises, but a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.

The incident, while alarming, did not result in any injuries or loss of life.
