Fire at EV showroom in Surat’s Adajan, over 15 vehicles gutted, two adjoining shops damaged

A fire broke out at a TVS electric vehicle showroom near Adajan Crossroads in Surat on Thursday morning, spreading rapidly to adjacent establishments and destroying more than 15 vehicles parked outside.
According to officials, the blaze engulfed the showroom within minutes, with flames and thick smoke reaching a nearby Apollo Pharmacy outlet and Krishna Restaurant, causing extensive damage to both properties. The fire is believed to have intensified due to the presence of vehicle batteries and other combustible materials inside the showroom.
The incident triggered panic among local residents as towering flames and smoke billowed from the building.
Upon receiving the alert, the Surat Fire and Emergency Services rushed more than 10 fire tenders from five stations, including Palanpur, Jahangirpura, Morabhagal and Muglisara, to the spot. Firefighters launched an intensive operation from multiple directions and managed to prevent the blaze from spreading further before bringing it under control after several hours.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. Cooling operations were underway at the site, while authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
