Fire at Juhapura society parking claim one life, 200 rescued

In a major fire accident reported from Ahmedabad’s Juhapura, 210 people were rescued, and one died on Mar 15.

The fire originated in the parking area of Metro Mansion flats near Mastan Masjid in Fatehwadi, Juhapura, in Ahmedabad.

As soon as the fire broke out, the residents rushed to the upper floors and terrace of the building.

According to reports, around 3 a.m. on the morning of Mar 15, the fire control room was informed. Prahladnagar fire station, other fire stations, and water tankers reached the spot.

Nine divisional officers, a station officer, the in-charge chief fire officer, and firefighters initiated the efforts to bring the blaze under control.

The fire brigade successfully rescued over 200 residents. However, reports suggest that an elderly individual died in the incident.

The blaze engulfed 39 two-wheelers and three autorickshaws parked in the apartment. 

The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
