Female bouncer, auto driver held with MD drugs worth over ₹3.4 lakh in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad City Crime Branch has arrested a female bouncer and an autorickshaw driver in Ramol for possession of 34.18 grams of MD drugs—a mixture of amphetamine and mephedrone—worth approximately ₹3.41 lakh. The drugs were being transported without any legal pass or permit.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted an autorickshaw near the three-road junction at Vinayak Park in Ramol. Upon inspection, officers found the narcotics concealed inside the vehicle. Along with the drugs, two mobile phones and the autorickshaw, collectively valued at over ₹4.31 lakh, were seized for further investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ramiz Mohammad Nasir Mohammad Usmanmiya Belim (30), a resident of Ramol and Sirinbanu Mohammad Sharif Mohammad Safi Sheikh (28), also from the same locality. According to officials, Ramiz is a habitual user of narcotics and had procured the drugs from a man named Tanvir. Meanwhile, Sirinbanu allegedly sourced the contraband from Mumbai, intending to sell it locally for financial gain.
A case has been registered at the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) Police Station under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Tanvir and another unidentified individual are currently absconding, and a search has been launched to trace their whereabouts.
The police said that the crackdown is part of an intensified drive against the drug trade in the city and that further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the supply chain.
