Father, son die by drowning at Mandvi beach

A father-son duo died by drowning at the Mandvi Beach in Kutch on Sunday. According to reports, the family had gone to Kutch for a Diwali vacation. At Mandvi Beach, father Kishore Maheshwari and son Denis entered the water around 4 pm. When a big wave came and caught the son in deep water. The father went in to save him, and both were pulled into a current, leading to their deaths.

Local swimmers at the beach recovered the bodies of the father and son. 

The incident turned what should have been a fun vacation into a tragedy for the family.

Earlier, three individuals had died by drowning in Sabarmati river in Gandhinagar on August 14, while immersing the Dasha Mata idol in the river.

According to reports, a 12-year-old girl was performing the ‘visarjan’ (immersing) ritual when the incident occurred. Four more people dived in to save the girl. However, two of them also lost their lives, while two were saved by the locals.
