A violent clash in Narol on Sunday night claimed the life of a 45-year-old man and left his son battling for survival, after four youths armed with knives allegedly attacked the family in retaliation for a quarrel involving the victim’s niece.

According to Narol police, the deceased has been identified as Neerajkumar Bhumihar, while his nephew Satyam is undergoing treatment for serious injuries. The incident occurred in Radhe Homes society of Narol, where the Bhumihar family, originally from Bihar, has been living for several years.

Police said the trouble began when Satyam confronted a youth named Aditya, who was allegedly in regular contact with his sister. Upset over the reprimand, Aditya’s friends – identified as Vinay alias Bablu Yadav, Abhishek Rajput, Sahil Yadav, and Bipin alias Satyawan Yadav – arrived armed with sharp weapons. They allegedly attacked Satyam outside his residence.

When Neerajkumar and other relatives intervened to save him, the assailants reportedly stabbed them as well. Neerajkumar succumbed to his injuries, while Satyam was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

During the raid, police arrested three accused – Vinay alias Bablu Yadav, Abhishek Rajput and Sahil Yadav – while the fourth, Bipin Yadav, remains absconding. Police said the arrested men have a past criminal record.

“We have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder against four accused. Three have been arrested and efforts are on to trace the absconding accused. The role of Aditya, whose name has emerged during the probe, is also being verified,” said ACP Yuvrajsinh Gohil (K Division).

The case has triggered tension in the locality, with residents demanding strict action against those involved.
