Farmhouse feast turns fatal in Barejadi village, Ahmedabad Police arrest accused from Rajasthan

What was initially projected as a freak accident involving a “rickshaw stunt” has been established as a brutal murder following a detailed police investigation into the death of a 22-year-old man in Barejadi village, under the limits of Vivekanandnagar Police Station in Ahmedabad rural district.
The incident occurred on December 28, 2025, when a group of friends had gathered for a dinner party at a farmhouse in Barejadi. During the meal, an argument broke out between two friends, Bhavesh and Vishal, allegedly over monetary transactions. The verbal spat soon escalated, drawing in Rohit alias Badshah, who later succumbed to his injuries, and Ajay, now named as the prime accused.
As tempers flared, the altercation turned violent. Police said Ajay allegedly stabbed Rohit with a knife he was carrying. Rohit, who suffered severe injuries, was rushed to LG Hospital for treatment, where he died due to excessive blood loss.
In an attempt to mislead investigators, those present allegedly tried to pass off the incident as an accident, claiming that Rohit had sustained the fatal injury while performing a rickshaw stunt. This version was even recorded at the hospital. However, police officers who reached the hospital found the account suspicious and immediately launched a deeper probe.
With the assistance of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and a dog squad, police examined the scene and subjected the witnesses to sustained questioning. Statements recorded under section before the court revealed that Rohit’s death was not accidental but the result of a deliberate assault.
Confirming the breakthrough, Deputy Superintendent of Police Neelam Goswami said a case of murder has been registered at Vivekanandnagar police station. “Using human intelligence and technical inputs, the main accused Ajay was tracked down and arrested from Bhilwara in Rajasthan. The knife used in the crime has also been recovered,” she said.
The accused is currently on police remand, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI H N Baria, officials said, adding that the role of others present at the farmhouse is also under scrutiny.
