Fans flock to Narendra Modi stadium ahead of Ind VS NZ final in Ahmedabad

Thousands of cricket fans gathered outside the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, arriving at least two hours early to witness the much-anticipated India vs New Zealand final. Enthusiastic supporters carrying flags, wearing team jerseys, and chanting slogans created a festive atmosphere around the stadium.
Before the match, a special entertainment program is scheduled at the stadium featuring performances by international pop star Ricky Martin, followed by Gujarati singer Falguni Pathak and Punjabi singer Sukhbir.
One fan drew attention by carrying a doll of Lord Krishna on his shoulders, saying he brought it as a symbol of good luck for India’s victory in the final.
The police administration has made tight security arrangements for the high-profile match. More than 1,800 police personnel have been deployed, including 8 DCPs, 14 ACPs, and 27 Police Inspectors.
Key security measures include:
CCTV surveillance: 256 cameras monitoring the stadium premises.
Metal detectors: 102 door-frame metal detectors installed at entry points.
Special teams: Four Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams and one NDRF team on standby.
