After several tourists were cheated in Sasan in the name of online safari permit booking, a new fraud has now surfaced, this time involving online room booking at Sasan Sinh Sadan.

Fraudsters created a bogus website and lured tourists into booking rooms online, collecting money from them. The accused also posed as staff members of Sinh Sadan guest house.

The Forest Department learnt about this after one tourist arrived with a room booking receipt. A complaint has been filed against three unidentified persons.

According to details, around five days ago, RFO (Range Forest Officer) Yash Umaraniya posted at Sinh Sadan was on duty when a tourist named Jatin Sheth from Tukwada village in Valsad came to the reception. He produced what looked like a genuine room booking receipt.

The RFO informed him that “Sinh Sadan rooms cannot be booked online. You have been cheated.”

Upon questioning, the tourist revealed that he had made the booking through a website named sinhsadan.com. When he called the number on the site, an unknown person introduced himself as staff of the guest house. Believing him, Jatin transferred ₹11,900 and later received the fake receipt.

Following this complaint, RFO Yashkumar Umaraniya has filed a case against the unidentified persons who created the fake website and received the money.
