Ex-servicemen who joined BJP feel betrayed: Around 100 submit resignation to C R Paatil

A large number of ex-servicemen who had joined the BJP in Gujarat are disappointed and disillusioned. With their long-pending issues remaining unresolved, around 100 ex-servicemen, including Jitendra Nimavat, president of the Ex-Servicemen Seva Foundation Gujarat, on Thursday submitted their resignations to Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil.
Repeated written and verbal representations were made to the government over the last five years, and even an agitation was held in 2022, the ex-servicement stated. Despite their dedicated contribution to the BJP’s victories in the 2022 Assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, their concerns were ignored and no solution has been provided till date.
Their resignation letter states that although rules and resolutions have been announced for the welfare of ex-servicemen, the government has failed to implement them. “If the government does not listen to us despite our numbers, how will it listen to the common people?” the letter questions.
Copies of the resignation have also been sent to BJP state general secretary Ratnakar.
