A former personal assistant filed a complaint against Botad AAP MLA Umesh Makwana with Botad police on Sunday, accusing the MLA of not paying bills worth lakhs pertaining to election expenses and threatening the PA and his family.
The former PA, Ajay Jamod, mentioned in his complaint that in February 2023, he was informed by the MLA over a call that Jamod would be paying the bills related to election expenses from his own pocket, and he would be reimbursed later.
In April 2024, Jamod approached the MLA and requested him to pay the bills, citing that his salary and savings had been spent on the election expenses.
According to Jamod, the MLA assured him of the payment at that time. However, when the MLA was shown the bills and asked for the remainder of the salary, he got agitated.
The complaint stated that the PA was subsequently fired and he was threatened by the MLA, who allegedly said that all officials were “in his pocket”, and the PA and his family would be “taken care of”.
