Ex-Cong MLA Himmatsinh’s son Yuvraj among 2 held after accident near Dadhichi Bridge in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Police have arrested two persons following a road accident near the Dadhichi Bridge Circle in Ahmedabad, after a video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting swift police action.

The Madhavpura police registered offences against the accused, identified as Yuvraj Patel and Shrikant Tomar, and took them in custody. According to officials, the two were travelling in a black car and were allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Police said that a liquor bottle was also recovered from the vehicle. Separate cases have been registered against the car driver and another individual in connection with the incident.

The vehicle, estimated to be worth around ₹11 lakh, has been seized as part of the investigation.

Officials further confirmed that Yuvraj Patel is the son of former Congress MLA Himmatsinh Patel. Following their arrest, both accused were subjected to medical examination to ascertain alcohol consumption.

Police said that further investigation in the case is under way.
